Question: Is it necessary to install a dynamic Balancing Machine on a special foundation?

Answer: No, Usually not, like most other machinery, it is sufficient to securely bolt Schenck Hard Bearing machines to a sound workshop floor with a layer of grout between the floor and the machine base.

This is usually sufficient for accurate unbalance measurement. Grouting is increasingly important for larger machines. The strength of the floor only needs to be sufficient to safely support the combined mass of the machine and the heaviest rotor to be balanced. Guidelines for installation of Schenck balancing machines.

Special foundations are recommended in special cases such as for:-

  • "High-speed balancing"
  • The floor is cracked or unstable
  • The machine is to be installed across separate slabs
